On-site inspection of fire protection installations
On-site inspection of fire protection installations is performed by the VdS Inspection Services, who have been accredited as inspection body according to EN 45001 and EN 45004 by the "Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle Technik (DATech) e.V." Accreditation ensures that requirements of international QM systems are complied with and that all inspections are carried out with constant due diligence. Central management and regular training measures ensure a high and uniform level of inspections.
The inspection program of the VdS Inspection Services essentially comprises:
- Sprinkler systems
- Gas extinguishing systems (e.g. CO2, Nitrogen, Argon, Inergen, FM 200)
- Water spray extinguishing systems, fine spray extinguishing systems
- Spark extinguishing systems
- Foam, powder and special extinguishing installations
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems
- Fire protection barriers
