VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH, a company of the German Insurance Association (GDV), is divided into four operative divisions: Fire protection, security, training & information and the VdS publishing house.

At the headquarter of the company in Cologne, Germany and in the branches of the Inspection Services in Germany and in Europe, VdS employs around 300 staff. Each one of this staff makes his or her contribution to the success of the company through their high level of professional know-how and commitment.

VdS is accredited for various tests and certifications acc. to DIN, ISO and EN standards, for example according to the European Standard 45,000. VdS is a member of the European Fire and Security Group (EFSG).
