The regulatory guidelines of the German Property Insurers, which has been written up in agreement within the EU and which is accepted internationally, is published by VdS. In addition to the experience of damages from the side of the insurer, the experiences of the police on the current behavior of criminals, as well as the experience of the fire department in fire fighting are all included in the regulations. Furthermore, the VdS body of rules stipulates requirements for single products as well as qualification requirements for specialist companies. The VdS regulations thereby provide a sound base for reducing the risk of fire and burglary. 

Furthermore, a series of technical books as well as the market-leading magazine „s+s report" are also published by VdS.
